It's really validating to see a fellow young muslim put into words the often unshared struggle of procrastination / falling into 'unproductive' spirals seemingly unfailingly -- especially addressing the bedrot / screen addiction realities... i don't have anything to add really, but thank you for sharing this, and the poem at the end! -- I really needed to hear that. Finding all this extremely relatable, and these struggles exasperatingly familiar, and while reading this on the eve of my thesis defense (surreal), reminds me that we really arrive at no checkpoint but by the mercy of Allah... alhamdulillah for the constant of Him. Bittawfeeq on your MCAT prep! (I've also procrastinated practicing my presentation all day lol... duaas are appreciated).
Ape, together, heal! Or doomscroll. We can all collectively doom scroll individually in a group lol. Man, imagine a bunch of monkeys on a tree but they're all on their phones instead of doing communal monkey things like preening each other. Food for a poem lol.

I actually did way better than I thought I did, so alhamdulillah for the hope that I might just be able to pull it off this time and lay this exam to rest.

Oh no lol it’s for a masters degree. On that note all my professors encouraged me to think about PhD - but ngl, I don’t think so 🙅🏼♀️ It was a very challenging journey I’m grateful to have gotten through and learned from by the grace of Allah swt - but also very enlightening as to where the limits of my abilities and sanity lie 😅 I’m interested in maybe exploring critical research in other (shorter 😭) ways though, maybe trying to publish some articles in academic journals - but I don’t think a PhD program is for me 😂 Huge respect to those who tackle it though!

Ah, well, they do say PhD stands for permenant head damage so might be best to avoid an academic traumatic brain injury 🤣
